Abu Dhabi – Day 6

Another day, another lack of energy. Let’s stick to Abu Dhabi then. We know what’s here, what we can do and see, and where to go for a relaxing day. Probably best. At least today it’s not pouring, so we can leave and enjoy the weather outside more than we got to yesterday. But, this will be another short post.

We walk towards the Corniche as always, but take a slight detour to visit The Souq at the World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi.

This was a mix of a traditional looking souq (in a modern building) along with modern stores and a hypermarket. Including these paintings inside.

Well… that was the extent of new things we did today. The rest was just walking in parks we had already been in and taking pictures of things we had already seen.

But! How had we not noticed this before? There are big parrots in Abu Dhabi! Not sure if you can see it or not… but there’s a big parrot sitting in those trees, right in the middle, just above the shadow. How did we not realize this before? After we noticed we started seeing them everywhere! In trees, but mostly flying around. How were we so blind?

The rest of the day was just spent sitting here by the beach. We had a great view forward and backward. It was nice and relaxing, and we were able to do some reading while taking some time lapses. Hopefully they turned out okay and you get to see them someday!

We stayed until the sun started going down, and then we started heading back towards the hotel to do our nightly ritual of going to the supermarket and buying some shawarmas. But this time we were lucky that we walked by the Capital Park. This is exactly where we had walked the other day, where we watched some guys play football… but we hadn’t noticed this. How?! Wow, today really shows that even though we think we’re clever and we’ve seen a lot, there’s still so many little things to notice.

Another short post as we try to recover our energies (… well … my partner, I feel fine). Goodnight from Abu Dhabi!
